Rio

GENRE : Animation | Comedy | Adventure

PLOT : The macaw baby Blu is captured by dealers and smuggled to USA. On way accidentally Blu is left trapped on road. Linda finds him and he grows with her.

REVIEW : Rio is a decent tale of the bird Blu. It captures quite well the life of the endangered bird with the situation incorporated. Jesse Eisenber and Anne Hathaway have perfectly portrayed the character of Blu and Jewel through their voices. The movie is a colorful visual treat for kids with all the colorful exotic birds. Story-wise its quite simple but it flows smoothly throughout. Though its predictable but its enjoyable still as its not boring and steady paced with the 92 min running time. Coming to animation, its simply amazing. The lead Blu is the eye-catcher which is beautiful. The music and the background score is just amazing blending too well with the whole colourful theme. What's missing is a good script. Still its fun to watch with some humor added in between and thus making it good for adults as well. The animation is too good as expected. I liked it very much and am sure you will as well. Though its not perfect but its a must watch and you can just relax and I guarantee that it will remove all your stress.

How to Train Your Dragon

GENRE : Animation | Comedy | Adventure

PLOT : On the Island of Berk, dragons continually raid the town and the Vikings are up for a war against them fighting and killing. Hiccup, a young viking also aspires to hunt dragons but ends up acquainting a young dragon himself.

REVIEW : Coming out of the box of Dreamworks the movie have so many expectations. Do it stand on it? Hell yeah! After a long time this one delivers a great concept molded perfectly into a movie. Moreover its original, its refreshing and its gonna take you to a new world, a world of Dragons. Visually the movie is very appealing with all the effects and flawless animation can be seen throughout. The characters are appealing as I said the concept itself is quite good. The direction is perfectly worth appreciating. The protagonist's character [Hiccup] is carved out so magnificently. One more thing to add is that the movie stirs you up emotionally as well. The bond of Hiccup and the dragon [toothless] is elegantly portrayed. The movie is predictable and that's the only minus point. Overall I can definitely say that it's not just meant for kids, the elder are gonna enjoy it as much. Two thumbs up for the great job, I loved it.

Insidious

GENRE : Horror | Thriller

PLOT : A family moves to a new house and faces misfortune as their son suffers from coma. But is it just coma or something else?

REVIEW : From the moment I saw the trailer I was pretty much into it as it looked scary. Moreover James Wan is the one directing which makes it a must. Well frankly this was a lowdown from dead silence for me. Wan is the person who cleverly places a brilliant twist in the end which makes the movie being rated higher. Its not quite the same thing here. Initially the moment movie starts you're gonna get a hint that this is gonna be scary as hell. The music, the makeups everything adds to the creepy scenario. Actually its scary in places and you might get jumpy. However towards the later part of the movie it feels stupid script-wise. I guess they needed a better script. The direction is in his own style again. Some humor have also been added which makes it more creepy. It could have been much better that's what I feel. Anyways as the matter of fact, its definitely gonna scare you no matter what, so go for it.

Dead Silence

GENRE : Horror | Mystery | Thriller

PLOT : Jamie Ashen comes home to find his wife Lisa disfigured and dead in their apartment. He returns to his hometown to search for answers to his wife's murder.

REVIEW : This one comes out of the bag of James Wan and is already assigned to a hype of SAW. The plot of the movie is refreshing considering these days horror flicks. The basic idea of generating terror is retro in style but very effective. There are many sudden scenes which may make you jump. I have seen everywhere that its quite under - rated and the critics have given negative reviews but trust me it is capable of giving you nightmares. The thing lacking is that it seems the sole purpose of the movie is to scare you and no doubt it does it well but the depth of the plot is missing. But actually whats wrong with it. You will definitely enjoy the movie if you stop pin pointing things out. The movie is creepy as hell. One plus for the awesome climax which can be expected clearly from Wan. If you wanna get scared, do watch it.

Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara

GENRE : Comedy | Adventure | Drama

PLOT : Three friends decides to go on a vacation for celebrating the Bachelors Party after one of them is engaged.

REVIEW : The basic concept is similar to Hangover though but the treatment is different. Farhan Akhtar has done a great job in dialogues and the poetry of Javed Akhtar is mesmerizing. The film is totally fun to watch and is a laugh riot in the first half. However the second half is too stretchy and this is where Zoya Akhtar has fallen weak in direction. All three have done good job and Abhay Deol especially is funny where Farhan is strong given the prominent dialogues. The sequences are long and irrelevant. In the end the purpose of Imran is left questionable and feels to be irrelevantly forced into the movie. The songs are mostly just added to increase the duration but they are good especially Paint it Red and Senorita. The first half is filled with punches and quick humor. So definitely one will like it although the second half has weakened the movie. Its definitely worth one watch.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2

GENRE : Fantasy | Mystery | Drama | Adventure

PLOT : The journey to destroy the horocruxes continues from part 1.

REVIEW : This is what all had been waiting. The end is here and it comes with a big bang. This is the best installment of the series excluding Prisoner of Azkaban. Finally its Harry vs Voldemort. With the beginning only its quite understandable that all we're gonna watch is a lot of action. The direction great, the script is written pretty well and I just loved the screenplay. Its stunning visually and the effects are commendable. One more thing is that you will find your heart pacing as more and more time passes. Definitely all you think is that its gonna end now. I watched in 3d and didn't find much use of 3d except 2-3 good scenes. So its moreover kind of same if you watch in 2d. The truths when unfold delivers a shock to us. Although the ending scenes don't fit well but the climax is superb and it couldn't have ended better. Just loved it but sadly the series is over now.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1

GENRE : Fantasy | Mystery | Drama | Adventure

PLOT : The final year is here and Voldemort has grown strong. The trio Harry, Ronn and Hermione begin their journey to find and destroy the horocruxes.

REVIEW : The end is near and now the power of Voldemort can clearly be traced out. This installments majorly focuses on the climax which is near. Henceforth the sole attention is paid to the action sequences. What I believe is that the movie is stretched without any reason just to produce another installment. Nothing much important happens in this part and the major part is left for the last installment. All the questions which were aroused in Half Blood Prince are majorly left unanswered. This is a let down again and the producers now are greedy for another one clearly. The romantic relationships are more focused without any importance just to cover up the running time. Therefore its really slow paced making you yawn at certain places. I would rather rate it 6.5. Its the weakest of all.
